1st day:  Marrakech

Arrival at Marrakech Airport, transfer to hotel 4 stars.

2nd day: Marrakech-High Atlas Mountain-Ait Ben Haddou-Skoura-Boumalene dade ( 316km/7h00)

Crossing the High Atlas mountains at the Tizi n’Tichka pass at 2200m and descending on the South side into the pre-desert countryside; visit of the Kasbah Aït Ben Haddou, listed by Unesco a World Heritage site and a well known site of film productions. Continuation to Ouarzazate, a former stronghold of the Foreign Legion and the Glaoui family that once dominated the whole South of Morocco. Continue south towards Skoura palm grove and Kelaa Mgouna, the town of roses, and reach the Dades Gorges passing through colorful Berber villages.Dinner & Overnight in hotel babylon  dades gorges.

3 rd day: Boumalene –Zagora (274km/ 6h00) (274km/ 6h00)

After breakfast, we head up to the Saghro volcanic mountains winding through dramatic rock formations and gorges via the spectacular road of Tizi n Tazazart, which offers breathtaking views. The trip continues through the lined-up palms of Draa valley and its many Berber villages into Zagora.Dinner & Overnight at Kasbah  de draa.

4th day: Zagora – Tamgroute – Mhamid – Erg Lihoudi (108km/4h00*)

After breakfast, you will have enough time to visit Zagora and its surroundings, especially the Jewish quarter in Amzerou and the palm groves. From Zagora, we travel east towards the desert making a stop in Tamgroute, an important town during the Saadian dynasty in the 16th century, to visit its old Koran library and subterranean kasbah. We then continue into Mhamid, where you’ll have lunch in a typical Moroccan restaurant.Starting early in the afternoon, experience nomadic life by riding camels through the desert and appreciate its various landscapes (Erg, Reg, Hammada, etc). Enjoy dinner and overnight stay in nomad tents or under the stars in the midst of the Erg Lihoudi sand dunes.Dinner & Overnight at camp Erg Lihoudi

5th day: Erg Lihoudi-Mhamid-Chegaga ( 77km/*4h15)

After the morning meal, you ride on the back of saddled camels and enter the Sahara desert. A two hours ride followed by a break for lunch in M’hamid. Travel from M’hamid by 4×4 vehicle through the beautiful desert landscape with a break to enjoy a berber sahara tea in the sacred oasis.We reach the sand dunes of Chegaga – the largest group of dunes in the region reaching a height of 300 mand a span of 40 km. Dinner & Overnight in Camp in a nomad tent.

6th day: Chegaga-Foum Zguid-Taznakht-Tisselday ( 253km/7h00)

Admire the sunrise over the dunes and enjoy breakfast before departing with 4×4 vehicles to Foum Zguid via the old Paris-Dakar road that crosses Iriqui lake. We will stop in the Berber village of Taznakht for lunch before taking the route to tisselday.Dinner & overnight at  guest house

7th day: Tisselday-Marrakech (150km/3h15)

Transfer to Marrakech through the Tizi n’Tichka pass at 2 200m in the High Atlas mountains, on winding mountain roads with breathtaking views over the highest peaks of Morocco. Arrival in Marrakech by the end of the morning, pm visit at leisure to the extensive and crowded souks and the famous Jemaa El Fna Square with its acrobats, fortune tellers, story tellers, snake charmers and much more … Dinner at leisure & Overnight in Hotel 4 stars.(On BB)

8th day:     Departure

What to Bring

For Tizi Trekking you need to prepare as you would for walking in any mountain region; it can be warm and sunny during the day but the weather in the mountains can quickly change from sunshine to snow and cold winds (autumn through late spring). Please do not leave any rubbish behind you; carry out what you carry in.

Tizi trekking are tailored to match the season and your level of fitness. You have the choice of basing yourself in Berber Guesthouses, from where you can take daily walks, or you can Atlas Mule Trek for 2+ days. On mule treks you usually have the choice of staying in Berber Guesthouse/with families or wild camping in 2-person tents. In addition to regular packing, here is a Check List for Tizi trekking:
