Day 1: Pick up from Marrakech airport
and transfer to the hotel. Dinner and overnight accommodation at the hotel.

Day 2: Marrakech – Azilal – Tizin Oughbar (2200m) – Valley Ait Abbes – Valley Ait Bougmez – Azib n Ikkis (2300m) – camp. 3 Hours walking.

Day 3: Azib n Ikkis (2300m) – Col de Tarkedit (3450m) – Descent towards Plateau Tarkedit (2900m) 5 Hours 30 mins walking.

Day 4: Ascension (Optional) to Summit Mgoun (4068 m) – Descent towards Sources of Oulilimt (2600m) 8 Hours 30 mins walking.

Day 5: Sources of Oulilimt – Sources of Afelafal then Tighremt’n Ait Ahmed (point of old caravaniers) – Camp

Day 6: Tighremt n Ait Ahmed- Col Ait Imi (2900 m) – descent towards Ait Imi (1900 m) – Valley of Ait Bougmez. 6 Hours walking.

Day 7: Pass through Berber villages in the beautiful valley of Ait Bougmez – Return to Marrakech

Day 8: Transfer to airport

What to Bring

For Tizi Trekking you need to prepare as you would for walking in any mountain region; it can be warm and sunny during the day but the weather in the mountains can quickly change from sunshine to snow and cold winds (autumn through late spring). Please do not leave any rubbish behind you; carry out what you carry in.

Tizi trekking are tailored to match the season and your level of fitness. You have the choice of basing yourself in Berber Guesthouses, from where you can take daily walks, or you can Atlas Mule Trek for 2+ days. On mule treks you usually have the choice of staying in Berber Guesthouse/with families or wild camping in 2-person tents. In addition to regular packing, here is a Check List for Tizi trekking:
